In a disappointing World Cup campaign for Pakistan, their on e shining light has been the performance of pace spearhead, Shaheen Afridi. He started the tournament on a low, but has certainly ended it on a high.

In the ongoing match against England, the Pakistan pacers have been taken to the cleaners, and none have been spared by Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes. Stokes in particular carried his good form from the previous game and was well on the course to notch up his second successive hundred of the tournament.

However, a deadly toe-crushing yorker from Afridi ended his dream as the southpaw was sent back to the pavilion with a moment of brilliance.

Batting at 84, Stokes was looking to up the ante, when Afridi came for his final spell. The Pakistan seamer bowled an inch-perfect yorker, which was unplayable, even for someone batting in his 80s. The ball landed perfectly, and by the time Stokes brought his bat down, it had crashed onto the stumps.

Stokes looked disappointed as he was nearing a huge landmark, and was just 16 runs shy of his second World Cup hundred.

Talking about the match, England opted to bat first after winning the toss and that seemingly ended Pakistan's dream of reaching the semis. However, the Babar Azam led unit will be eagr to end the tournament on a high by beating the England team.
