India face-off against the Netherlands in the final league stage encounter of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Sunday (November 12), with the famous M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore providing an iconic setting for Men In Blue's last battle ahead of the high-pressure knock-outs.

Rohit Sharma's men have held a winning juggernaut in the quadrennial event after suppressing eight oppositions on the bounce and will be out to stretch the dominant streak to a remarkable ninth consecutive victory before storming into the semifinal round.

For Netherlands, while a dream entry to the knock-outs stage is out of equation following successive losses in their previous three matches, there is still a place in the Champions Trophy 2025 at stake. They stand the chance to travel to Pakistan in two years' time provided they clinch a third tournament victory and secure a place within the top 8 of the World Cup standings.

IND vs NED: Head-to-Head Record in ODIs

In what reflects embarrassingly on cricket's rather elitist governance and ignorance towards lower-ranked and associate nations, India and Netherlands have only twice played each other in One-Day International history. Both times at the men's 50-over World Cup during their respective campaigns of the 2003 and 2011 editions of the marquee tournament.

IND vs NED: Head-to-Head Record in ODI World Cups

In both of the two nations' World Cup encounters it's the much-fancied 'Men In Blue' who eventually come out triumphant, albeit the Dutch would take confidence from the fact that they managed to give India a scare on either occasion and forced the more experienced opposition to break a sweat.

IND vs NED: Head-to-Head Record in ODIs in India

The group match of the 2011 World Cup in Delhi remains the only previous India-Netherlands men's ODI played on Indian shores. Back then, the Dutch collapsed to 189 all out but had India under the pump at 4/99 until they were bailed out by a masterful fifty from 'Player of the Tournament' Yuvraj Singh.
