The Champions One-Day Cup is approaching its business end. Mohammad Rizwan's Markhors qualified for the next round despite losing to the Lions on Friday, September 20. 

In the recently concluded match between the Lions and Markhors, the Shaheen Afridi-led side beat the Markhors by 35 runs. The Lions, batting first, put 367 runs on the board courtesy of Irfan Niazi's century and fifty-plus scores from Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, and Khushdil Shah.

In reply, Mohammed Rizwan-led side came close to registering a historic win but fell short of 35 runs. Fakhar Zaman scored 82 (72), which featured eight fours and four sixes. Meanwhile, Agha Salman looked and scored 69 (39) before getting dismissed by Shaheen Afridi.

Shaheen Afridi Engages In A Battle With Salman Agha

Talking about Afridi, he took two wickets but was on the expensive side and conceded 86 runs. He had a great contest with Salman Agha. Agha hit Shaheen Afridi for two sixes, and Afridi got rid of Agha. 

Shaheen Afridi got hit for a six on the last ball of the 43rd over. Afgha repeated it and slammed Salman for another six on the 3rd ball of the 46th over. A delivery later, Afridi's delivery resulted in a thick edge and keeper Hashmi made no mistake. 


Shaheen Afridi Sledges Shahnawaz Dahani

On the fifth ball of the 48th over, Shaheen Afridi came 'round the wicket and bowled a brilliant bouncer angling into Shahnawaz Dahani, and the batter just about managed to get out of the line. Shaheen did not stop there but came up with some animated remarks for Dahani, using body language that clearly showed his frustration. Dahani, in reply, did not utter a word and just smiled as Shaheen Afridi walked back to his mark, trying to explain something to one of his fielders.
