Shaheen Afridi against Indian openers is always a contest to behold in Indian-Pakistan games. Many people felt that it will be a defining battle when India take on Pakistan at Ahmedabad in World Cup 2023 but Pakistan's batting faltered big time and they were bowled out for just 191. So, Shaheen Afridi had an added pressure in the second half when he came up against the likes of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. The Indian openers started off with a bang as well, smashing Afridi all over the park.

However, on the 5th delivery of the third over, Gill was sent packing against the run of play as he he nailed a cut shot straight to Shadab Khan at backward point. It was not a wicket-taking delivery by any stretch of imagination but it proved productive for Afridi and brought a big respite in Pakistan's camp.

Talking about the ball that got rid of Shaheen Afridi, it was a shortish delivery, outside off. Gill played a cut shot and hit if quite well but ended up smashing it straight to Shadab Khan who took a sharp to send Gill packing.

However, the respite was short-lived for Pakistan as Virat Kohli joined Rohit Sharma and both of them are playing some glorious shots to keep India’s chase going.
