Rohit Sharma gave India perfect start against their arch-rivals Pakistan after coming to chase a paltry 192 in Match 12 of the World Cup 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The 36-year-old played an audacious four nonchalantly, that too against Shaheen Afridi, to help India go off and running.
To start off the proceedings, Shaheen Afridi bowled a fullish inswinging ball, but it was at Rohit Sharma's pads. The Indian skipper timed the ball perfectly and lofted it over the square leg for a superb four.
Unsurprisingly, the crowd in Ahmedabad went wild as Rohit gave India an ideal start.

Earlier in the game, Rohit was spot-on during his captaincy to knock over Pakistan for 191 in 42.5 overs. The Men in Green were going strong on 155/2 at one point before Rohit's clever bowling changes, ably supported by his teammates, triggered a collapse, and folded Pakistan for a lowly total.
At the time of writing, Rohit is batting on 14* off 11 deliveries, whereas Virat Kohli is in the middle. Shubman Gill, who also got a wonderful start, fell after scoring 16 off 11 balls.
