In a high-stakes showdown currently underway at the India vs Pakistan match of the ICC World Cup 2023, the dismissal of Mohammad Nawaz has definitely come at the right moment. Pakistan, who were in a relatively strong position at 155/2, witnessed an astonishing collapse as they tumbled to 187/8, and Nawaz's departure was a pivotal moment in the match.

Nawaz, who had been battling it out in the middle, faced 14 deliveries and managed to score just 4 runs before falling victim to the brilliant combination of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. Pandya delivered a shorter ball, enticing Nawaz to go for the big shot, but the Pakistani all-rounder couldn't find the sweet spot of his bat. 

Instead, the ball soared towards mid-wicket, where Bumrah was waiting, completing a straightforward catch just at the edge of the circle.


The dismissal of Nawaz was not just a wicket; it was a turning point that swung the momentum completely in India's favor. The Pakistani side, once looking promising, was now struggling, and their path to victory had become even more arduous.

India now has to score 192 in 50 overs.
