Pakistan's ace speedster Shaheen Afridi had an ordinary outing in the Lions' Champions Cup 2024 encounter against the Stallions in Faisalabad. The experienced left-arm seamer could scalp only two wickets while conceding 63 runs in his ten-over spell.

The Stallions' skipper Mohammad Haris took him on during the last few overs, even hitting him for an outrageous six at a crucial juncture of the match. The incident occurred during the 45th over of the Stallions' innings when Haris was trying to ensure a fitting finish for his side along with Hussain Talat. Shaheen had an excellent start to the over, conceding only three singles off his first five deliveries.

However, Haris had the last laugh as he smoked a gigantic six to collect nine runs off the over. Shaheen, who earlier dismissed Babar Azam, bowled a full-length delivery from around the wicket as he saw Haris charging down the track. However, his decision backfired on his side, with the explosive keeper-batter dispatching the ball over the extra cover for a glorious maximum.

The ball was so well-timed that it sailed into the stands for a six, leaving Afridi and his men shell-shocked. Haris' counterattacking knock worked wonders for the Lions, powering them to a whopping 336-run total in 50 overs.

Babar Azam, Tayyab Tahir Star With The Bat For The Stallions

Apart from Haris, Babar Azam and Tayyab Tahir were chief contributors with the bat for the Stallions. After they lost the prized wicket of Shan Masood, Babar and Tahir stitched a valuable 114-run stand for the third wicket.

While Babar perished for a glorious 79-ball 76, Tahir struck 74 runs off just 72 deliveries. Hussain Talat and Jahandad Khan also smashed blistering cameos, helping the Stallions post a whopping total. In response, the Lions have had a shaky start to their innings, losing four wickets for 72 runs in 16.4 overs.
