The very first game of the Entertainers Cricket League (ECL) witnessed a controversy surrounding a lbw decision. The tournament played between 6 teams consist of social media superstars, showcasing their cricket skills.

However, it seems like the umpire in the league has no clue about the rules of the tournament. The Haryanvi Hunters bowler, Mahi delivered a length ball on the stumps and batter Ankit Kumar missed his slog as the ball struck him on the front-leg. Interestingly, the umpire gave him out, but in the ECL T10 League, there is no lbw dismissal.

Since the tournament is being played with Tennis ball, there is no lbw rule in it. However, the umpire fumbled with the rulebook and made a mistake when giving the lbw out.

Abhishek Malhan's Bashers smash 178, but lost the match

The Bangalore Bashers skipper, Abhishek Malhan was dismissed cheaply, but the other batters chipped in with valuable runs. With just a 10-over game, two of their batters, Ankit Kumar and Tanush Sethi went berserk.

The duo combined for 14 sixes as the Bashers exceeded expectations and slammed 178/7. In reply, the Haryanvi Hunters lost skipper Elvish Yadav cheaply but eventually won the game with 2 balls to spare.
