In a remarkable turn of events, experienced Pakistani speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi has completed 100 wickets in Test cricket. Afridi, making his comeback after an injury layoff, dismissed Nishan Madushka to achieve the phenomenal feat during Pakistan's ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. 

After winning the toss, Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne opted to bat, considering the Galle track's favourable nature for batting. However, the hosts got off to a disastrous start, as Afridi drew the first blood for Pakistan, removing young Lankan opener Madushka for four. 

On the second delivery of the third over, the tall left-arm seamer bowled a beautiful delivery, which moved away sharply, taking a thick outside-edge of Madushka's bat. 

Wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed completed formalities by taking an easy catch and helping Afridi enter the 100-wicket club in the purest format. 

Thus, Afridi became the 19th bowler from Pakistan to complete 100 dismissals in Test cricket. 

Continuing his sublime form, the ace speedster got rid of Kusal Mendis and Dimuth Karunaratne in quick succession, leaving Sri Lanka in disarray. Riding on his superb spell, Pakistan got off to a dream start to the game, reducing the home side to 53 for three as of writing.
