After powering India to a mammoth first innings score through a flamboyant 171-run knock, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased his fielding prowess in the first Test against West Indies. The young batter, stationed at short leg, grabbed a spectacular catch during West Indies' second innings, helping veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scalp his third wicket.

In response to India's 421, West Indies had a disastrous start, losing their top four to Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja with only 32 runs on the board. However, the debutant Alick Athanaze looked in rhythm, as he stood firmly, neutralising the Indian bowlers with remarkable bravery.

But once his stand with Joshua Da Silva was broken, Athanaze was deceived by a trademark Ravi Ashwin slider, losing his wicket in this process. However, the credit for the dismissal goes to Jaiswal, who exhibited commendable athleticism to hold on to a sharp catch at short leg.

After Athanaze's departure, West Indies sank further in the Test match. The hosts, who haven't looked comfortable against India so far in the game, seem to be on the brink of an embarrassing defeat, placed at 99 for six, with Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph batting on 13* each as of writing.
