[Watch] Sean Abbott Recreates Virat Kohli's Celebration After A Bullseye Run-Out

Australian fast bowler Sean Abbott ran out well-set West Indies batsman Keacy Carty with a cracking direct-hit in the first ODI of the three-match series between the two sides. Carty’s untimely dismissal for 88 triggered a lower-order collapse for the visitors, as they slumped from 193-5 to 231 all out in the final 10 overs of the innings.

Notably, Abbott celebrated the wicket by pulling out a ‘bow and arrow’ from his virtual artillery, thus recreating an iconic Virat Kohli moment when the latter had toured South Africa in January this year.

Sean Abbott recreates Virat Kohli’s celebration

Sean Abbott unintentionally recreated Virat Kohli’s ‘bow and arrow’ celebration after running out West Indies number three batsman Keacy Carty towards the backend of the innings.

While Kohli had unfurled a virtual ‘bow and arrow’ to imitate Hindu deity Lord Ram during the Cape Town Test match in January this year, the Australian paceman celebrated Carty’s wicket in a similar manner, albeit with completely different intentions. It is safe to assume that Abbott was depicting the pinpoint accuracy of his own direct-hit by pulling out a ‘bow and arrow’ from his virtual artillery on the field at the MCG.

Keacy Carty made his way into the crease in just the second over of the West Indies innings, following the early dismissal of opening batsman Justin Greaves. The cricketer top-scored for the visitors by scoring 88 runs from 108 balls, and formed a cogent partnership with fellow half-centurion and comeback man Roston Chase.

Among Australian bowlers, debutant Xavier Bartlett, who Jhye Richardson, bagged four wickets while Sean Abbott chipped in by polishing off the West Indies tail.
