In an exciting turn of events for Australian cricket fans, dynamic young batter Jake Fraser-McGurk and uncapped pace bowler Xavier Bartlett have received their maiden international call-ups to join Australia's ODI squad for the upcoming Dettol series against West Indies. T

The announcement comes as Glenn Maxwell has taken a break, being "managed" ahead of the T20Is against West Indies and New Zealand, while Jhye Richardson is ruled out due to injury.

Fraser-McGurk, hailed as one of the most promising batting talents in the country, has been turning heads with his stellar performances in the domestic circuit. The 19-year-old set a world record by smashing a 29-ball century in the Marsh Cup, showcasing his explosive batting prowess.

Having moved from Victoria to South Australia, Fraser-McGurk also notched a maiden first-class century against his former team and delivered an impressive performance in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Melbourne Renegades. Recently making his debut for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20, he continued to impress with a quickfire 54 off 25 balls.

On the bowling front, Bartlett, the leading wicket-taker in this season's BBL with Brisbane Heat, has earned his spot in the ODI squad. Bartlett, known for his sharp outswing, has been a vital asset for Heat, securing crucial powerplay wickets and playing a key role at the death.

With Maxwell rested and Richardson side lined, the responsibility of leading the ODI team falls on the experienced shoulders of Steve Smith. The three-match ODI series, set to kick off on February 2, promises to be a platform for Fraser-McGurk and Bartlett to make their mark on the international stage.

Before the ODIs, cricket fans can catch the second and final Test between Australia and West Indies at The Gabba on January 25. Following their convincing 10-wicket victory in the first Test in Adelaide, Australia aims to continue their winning streak against the West Indies.
