Meanwhile, Virat Kohli himself is currently on a self-imposed short sabbatical from the Indian cricket team. The 35-year-old recently made his return to India’s T20I lore after a gap of 14 months through their home series against Afghanistan.
However, he opted himself out of the Indian team from the first two Test matches of the series against England. In his absence, Rohit Sharma and co. slumped to a 28-run defeat against the visitors at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in late January.
As per recent reports, Kohli will likely be making his return to the Indian team for the third Test of the series, set to be staged at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot between February 15 and February 19.
