Saim Ayub is one of the finest young talents in Pakistan currently and is known for his power-hitting. However, apart from one knock of 88, he has not been able to convert his start into a big score. The same thing happened in the 29th match of PSL 2024 between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.

Ayub started ona. brisk note and hit three boundaries as well, but lost his wicket just after the Powerplay as Zahid Mehmood got the better of him. It was a touch short delivery Mahmood outside off.  Aub tried to cut it but the ball turned in a bit and was not short enough to cut as well and it caught the inside edge of his blade to knock over the stumps.

Babar Azam naturally was disappointed as his young partner has once again thrown away a promising start and this is something 21-year-old needs to learn from his Peshawar skipper.

Saim Ayub recently replaced Babar Azam as an opener in Pakistan's T20I unit during the series against the Kiwis but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him with Babar showing superb consistency at the top of the order in PSL 2024.
