Team India inflicted a heavy 10-wicket victory over Nepal on Monday in their Group A Asia Cup 2023 encounter.  While India's batting led by Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill was crisp and clean, the same cannot be said about the fielding and bowling effort.

Indian fielders looked undercooked from the get-go, as Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and Virat Kohli dropped catches, respectively quite early on. Apart from the catching, the on-ground fielding was also sloppy, as fielders including Shardul Thakur were guilty of giving several overthrows and misfields.

Skipper Sharma is known to be quite animated and expressed his anger and frustration over poor fielding effort.

As players went off the field in the 39th over due to rain interruption, Sharma could be seen standing on the sidelines in disgust and staring at the likes of Hardik Pandya, Gill, Kishan, and Thakur in sheer anger.

However, both Kohli and Kishan did end up taking outstanding catches further in the match.

India bowlers were guilty of bowling loose balls, and not being disciplined in their line-and-length, which propelled Nepal's score to 230 despite being six down for 166.

India's revised DLS target came down to 145, as both Sharma and Gill hammered Nepal bowlers to bits, and notched up an easy 10-wicket win, remaining unbeaten on 74* and 63*, respectively.

Team India will next meet Pakistan in their first Super Four tie on September 10.  Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be back for the crucial match after the birth of his first child.
