Unlike Day 1, the second day of the India versus Bangladesh Test is certainly not going in the favour of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Co. as they have succumbed under pressure and lost the crucial wicket of Litton Das with the brilliance of India's star all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja.

Litton, the right-hand batter, did not have a fruitful time at the crease after he was forced to walk back for just 21 runs off 42 balls. Jadeja got his first wicket of the day and broke the budding 50-run partnership between him and Shakib Al Hasan.

In the 29th over, Jadeja bowled a full-length delivery outside the off stump. Litton got down on one knee for the slog sweep. He tried playing against the spin; however, he got the top edge that flew high in the air to a deep forward square leg. Dhruv Jurel, the substitute fielder in the deep, took a tumbling catch.

Litton's risky move to play a sweep shot against Jadeja proved too lethal for him.

India on top as Bangladesh tremble under pressure

The Indian bowlers continued their dominance in the second session, leaving Bangladesh struggling at 112/8 in 36.5 overs and 264 runs behind India’s first-innings total. With only 65 runs needed to avoid the follow-on, Bangladesh faced mounting pressure.

After lunch, the Indian pacers wreaked havoc, reducing the visitors to 5/40. Mohammed Siraj struck early, dismissing skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto for 20 runs, followed closely by Jasprit Bumrah, who sent Mushfiqur Rahim back for just 8. A brief resistance came from Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das, who forged a 51-run partnership for the sixth wicket, with Shakib scoring 32 off 84 balls.

However, Ravindra Jadeja broke this stand, dismissing Litton Das after a reckless shot and then removing Mushfiqur Rahim shortly after. Bangladesh's innings is teetering as they look to avoid further collapse as at the time of writing, Bangladesh are at 112/8.
