Promising Indian speedster Akash Deep exhibited a seam bowling masterclass as he castled Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque on successive deliveries in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. After India posted 376 runs in their first innings, the right-arm pacer helped them get a dream start with the ball, cleaning up the southpaws with absolute snorters.

The incident occurred during the ninth over of Bangladesh's first innings when skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was batting alongside Zakir Hasan following Shadman Islam's dismissal. After Ravichandran Ashwin conceded four runs off his first over, Indian captain Rohit Sharma brought Akash Deep to bowl the second over of his spell.

His decision proved a masterstroke, as the right-arm pacer jolted Bangladesh with two massive setbacks. After uprooting Zakir Hasan's middle stump, Akash Deep outfoxed Mominul, disturbing the furniture for the second successive time.

How Did Akash Deep Outfox Zakir And Mominul?

Akash Deep instantly switched to around the wicket, a decision which worked wonders for him. He used the crease beautifully to bring the ball back into Zakir, who saw his middle stump uprooted after being comprehensively beaten by the Indian pacer.

After Zakir's dismissal, Mominul joined Shanto in the middle to steady the ship for the Tigers. However, he couldn't save himself from Akash's lethal nip-backer, which left him stunned, uprooting his off stump.

Akash Deep's Magical Spell Leaves Bangladesh In Disarray

The young pacer's clinical bowling spell reduced Bangladesh to 22 for three after India posted a respectable 376-run total on the board. At Lunch on day 2, the visitors were tottering at 26 for three, with Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim batting on 15* and 4*, respectively.
