In the ongoing match between India and Bangladesh at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India are in the driver's seat as they have restricted Bangladesh to 92/57.

Bengal seamer Akash Deep took the world by storm with his fast bowling as he took two wickets at the start of the innings to cripple Bangladesh. Deep hogged the headlines after he took two wickets off two balls in the ninth over, and both were peach of deliveries.

Firstly, he castled Zakir Hasan's middle-stump and then rattled Mominul Haque's stump. Deep's magical deliveries got the internet talking as they were left in awe of Deep's bowling style and a few even compared it with Mohammed Shami. Thus, let's decode Akash Deep's bowling style.

Akash Deep And Mohammed Shami: Bowling Similarities And Differences

Deep's bowling style resembles Mohammed Shami a lot. Similar to Shami, Akash is someone who relies on straight seam movement and makes sure that the seam does not wobble in the air. He is not someone who likes to hit the deck hard, but his smooth and rhythmic action helps him get swing at later stages in the match as well.

Deep's bowling style allows him to swing the ball in the air, which is a sign of trouble for the batters, as seen in the ongoing match. Deep makes sure he hits the good-length area and bowls around the off-stump line, which is a corridor of uncertainty for the batters as the ball can nip back in and move away from the batter to get an outside edge.

Although Deep's style of bowling is slightly different from Shami's as well. Shami is quicker in the air, which makes him more lethal, while Shami also gets the contrast swing, which Akash Deep is yet to master.

Akash Deep Spills Magic In Duleep Trophy

Before featuring for India in the ongoing Test series, Akash Deep spilled his magic in the Duleep Trophy, where he took nine wickets in the first round, which featured a five-wicket haul. In that match too, Deep showed glimpses of Shami in his bowling.

Akash Deep too shone and took four wickets in the first innings, which featured the scalps of Rishabh Pant, Nitish Reddy, Navdeep Saini, and Yash Dayal. In the second innings, he registered a five-wicket haul.
