Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have always been like brothers from different mothers on and off the field. However, when it comes to the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the duo take on each other’s franchise, and try as much as they can with the aim of bringing glory.

While Babar has been leading Peshawar Zalmi for a while, Rizwan is the captain of the ship of Multan Sultans. The two sides went head-to-head on Tuesday (March 5) in Match 21 of the PSL 2024 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and it was Rizwan who had the first laugh against his partner-in-crime’s opposition.

Saim Ayub, who has been in sublime form in the PSL 2024, was the one who was at the receiving end. Ayub, batting on 46 off 22 balls, just smashed two sixes on back-to-back deliveries against Usama Mir.

Then, Mir bowled a classical leg spin, which hit on Ayub’s pad. They went for a LBW appeal, but on-field umpire decided not to raise his finger. Mir went straight to Rizwan to have a chat, and the Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman took sometime before signalling T just when the time was about to end.

The replay brought delight to Rizwan and his boys, as the ball pitched just on the line before the hawk-eye showed it would have been broken the stumps. As a result of three reds, Ayub had to leave after a blistering cameo.
