Two of the most adored women in the world of cricket, Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry, had a scintillating partnership on Tuesday (March 4) during RCB’s WPL 2024 clash against UP Warriorz at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. 

The duo stitched a 95-run stand for the second wicket, leaving every stadium fan worth every penny. While Smriti scored 80 off 50 balls, laced with 10 fours and three sixes, Perry made 58 off 37 balls, with the help of four sixes and as many fours.

After RCB defeated UP by 23 runs, Perry and Mandhana had a fun chat in Bengaluru, where they played their final league match of the ongoing edition. There, they talked about Perry’s glass-breaking six, and then, they discussed what Perry liked the most about India.

‘You drink 12 cups of masala chai,’ Mandhana revealed while having a laugh after Perry mentioned her favourite drink in India. 


Having won thrice in five attempts, RCB are placed third on the points table, behind table toppers Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. The Red and Gold Brigade missed out on the playoffs last year after a disastrous start, but this time around, they have an excellent beginning to carry on the momentum.

Moreover, Mandhana’s purple catch, coupled with Perry’s return to form, has relieved thousands of RCB fans. They will next play Gujarat Giants on March 6 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
