The ICC event is back in Pakistan after 29 long years, and it is surely a proud moment for all cricket fans in Pakistan. It is Champions Trophy, and the home team won the last edition which was held back in 2017.

Naturally, the emotions were running high at the start of the game for not only cricket fans, but also players involved on the field. It got amplified during the national anthem, and Pakistan players including Mohammad Rizwan looked quite emotional when it went loud all over the National Stadium in Karachi.

Pakistan Start Off Champions Trophy Opener On Positive Note

In a video released by ICC on their official Instagram handle, Pakistan players were seen singing National Anthem with great passion, and players like Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan looked quite emotional as they closed their eyes in the process.

The game is a crucial one for both Pakistan and New Zealand as one loss might put them in a do-or-die situation and with India also part of the group, both teams would be itching to notch up a win in this game. The toss went Pakistan's way and they elected to bowl first with dew expected to play a big factor in the second innings.

The home team also have got two early wickets with Conway and Williamson, two in-form batters back to the hut. New Zealand though have the confidence of beating Pakistan twice in the recently held tri-series and would be hoping that their middle order fires and they end up posting close to 300.
