On Wednesday, February 19, Pakistan locked horns against New Zealand in the first match of the Champions Trophy 2025. It is an emotional moment for the PCB and Pakistani fans as an ICC event returns to their soil for the first time in 29 years. 

Ahead of the first ball of the match, the PCB arranged a special aerial show, where jet planes took over the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The event occurred as the players were ready to take on the field, which is when fighter jets performed manoeuvres over the Karachi Stadium, which left the fans impressed.

Meanwhile, New Zealand openers Devon Conway and Will Young were left surprised and were taken aback when the jets appeared out of nowhere. Watch the special opening ceremony act by the Pakistani fighter jets and top-end military aircraft like F-16 and JF-1.

A special act was held by Indian Air Force's Surya Kiran team in the 2023 World Cup final, where they performed special manoeuvres before the start of the match between India and Australia. 

Talking about the ongoing match, the PCB had revealed in advance that the Pakistani Air Force would hold a special shoe for the fans. Meanwhile, New Zealand have also got off to a flying start as they are 21/0 after 3.1 overs and are looking to put a big total on the board.
