Deepti Sharma is UP Warriorz skipper for WPL 2025 and her team is in all sorts of trouble after their poor batting display on a flat deck at the Kotambi Stadium. Their batters could not get going and kept losing wickets against Gujarat spinners and could muster just 143 runs.

The UP Warriorz skipper tried her best to take her team out of trouble and scored 39 off 27 balls, but the power-game was missing and it led to her downfall when she tried to hit a big one and ended up miscuing it completely. Her wicket came on the fifth ball of the 15th over against leg-spinner Priya Mishra.

UP Warriorz Restricted To 143 By Giants

It was a lovely tossed up delivery, outside off. Deepti Sharma went for a wild slog, but mistimed it to right of mid off. Ashleigh Gardner, the GG skipper was aware and ran all the way towards the ball, dived full length and grabbed a stunning catch. It was a big, big wicket for GG and the one which hurt UP's chances of getting a score of over 150.

So far all the matches have been won by the chasing teams and it is the lowest first innings score of this season. It makes Gujarat Giants favourites to win the game with power-packed batting at their disposal and UP Warriorz would have to bowl out of their skins to make a match out of it.
