Ace Pakistani speedster Shaheen Afridi had a forgettable outing with the ball, as the New Zealand batters clobbered him to all parts of the ground. Batting first, the Kiwis had enjoyed their time in the middle, posting a whopping total of 401 runs on the board. In this process, they smashed Afridi for 90 runs in his ten-over spell, making him record his worst-ever figure in ODI cricket.

Notably, this is also the worst-ever bowling figure by a Pakistani bowler in the World Cup history.

Earlier, Afridi's teammate Haris Rauf attained the infamous milestone during this game. However, the left-arm pacer broke Rauf's record by conceding a six to Mitchell Santner towards the backend of the innings.

The incident occurred in the final over of New Zealand innings. After conceding only three runs in the initial half of the over, Afridi delivered an off cutter to Mitchell Santner. The ball was right on the slot, so Santner's eyes lit up as he went for a big shot.

The southpaw connected it superbly, as the ball flew over the long off fence for a mammoth six. Pakistan's keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was displeased with Afridi's bowling, as he expressed his disappointment with an animated gesture.

The six played a pivotal role for New Zealand, helping them breach the 400-run mark. On the other hand, the Pakistani players made their way back to the dugout with disappointment written all over their faces.
