[Watch] Chris Woakes Draws First Blood For England With 'Massive Wicket' of Travis Head

Travis Head has been in belligerent form in the last couple of years across formats and has played a big role in Australia's success. However, just before the World Cup, he suffered a freak injury that ruled him almost out of the World Cup but the man worked hard and made a rollicking comeback against the Kiwis in a crucial World Cup game to announce his arrival. He was expected to fire against the English as well but Chris Woakes with his lovely movement with the new ball has got the better of him and has delivered a big blow to the Aussies.

It was just the second over of the game and Head who started well in the first over, tried to take on Woakes as well. The English pacer though is known for his exploits with the new ball and bowled a lovely good-length delivery, around off that seamed away from Head. The Aussie tried to cut it but got an outside edge that went straight into the hands of Joe Root at first slip.

The wicket will be a big relief for England as Head can be dangerous if he stays in the crease for a long time and this is a great opportunity for England to seize the initiative and put pressure on Australia.
