India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant's stumping blunder has become a talking point during the third ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

Making his ODI comeback after 616 days, Pant's error occurred in the crucial 49th over when Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana stepped out to face Kuldeep Yadav's delivery.

Theekshana, attempting a big shot, missed the ball completely as it stayed low. Pant, behind the stumps, collected the ball cleanly but was notably slow in whipping off the bails.

The Sri Lankan batter initially failed to ground his bat inside the crease, but as Pant delayed, Theekshana managed to get his bat back just in time on the second attempt.

Initially ruled not out by the third umpire, replays revealed Pant's delayed action had cost the dismissal. Upon review, the decision was reversed to out, acknowledging that Theekshana's bat had bounced after initially being grounded.

The incident left Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and bowler Kuldeep Yadav visibly frustrated, as what should have been a routine stumping turned into a contentious moment. 

Despite this setback, Sri Lanka managed to post a competitive total of 248 runs, setting a challenging target for India.
