Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar has rallied behind his team’s performance ahead of the final ODI of the series against Sri Lanka. 

With the series poised for a thrilling conclusion, Sundar defended his fellow batters' struggles against the Sri Lankan spinners, emphasizing their proficiency in handling spin-friendly conditions.

Washington Sundar highlighted that the upcoming third ODI is expected to be played on a pitch conducive to spin, much like the previous games.

He also pointed out that the Indian team is well-versed in playing on such challenging surfaces, noting their experience in domestic cricket and Test matches.

"We're quality players of spin. The first two games have been played on exceedingly spin-friendly pitches, and more of the same is expected for Wednesday. We've always played on these kinds of pitches, even at home, even in Test matches. In domestic cricket, we play a lot of games on such wickets," Sundar stated, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Despite the team’s sub-par performances in the first two ODIs, Sundar expressed confidence in their ability to bounce back.

"It’s just a matter of finding a way in their own individual self, and trying to get the job done," he said. 

The star all-rounder underscored the Indian team's resilience, stating that they are known for stepping up to challenges. With the series on the line, India are set to face Sri Lanka in Colombo on Wednesday. The team will be looking to level the series and end on a high note.
