On Sunday, September 8, India B registered a 76-run win over India A. Musheer Khan won the player of the match award for his 181 (373), which featured 16 fours and five sixes. The Abhimanyu Easwaran-led side dominated most of the match.
India B had a 90-run lead but tumbled for just 184 runs in their second innings. However, the bowlers shone for India B and restricted India A to just 198 runs. Rishabh Pant had a great day in the field as he took five catches in the second innings.
Easwaran ignores Pant's DRS advice
Meanwhile, a video has been doing around on the internet where India B skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran does not show trust in Pant's assessment of a potential LBW wicket. The incident occurred on the fourth ball of the 18th over when Mukesh Kumar's delivery hit Shivam Dube on his pads.
The umpire was unmoved by the appeal, and Easwaran had a long discussion with Pant, who was behind the wickets. The DC skipper too was uninterested in taking a review and advised Easwaran against it. However, the India B skipper did not listen to him and went for a review. Eventually, Pant turned correct, and India B lost a review.
Dhruv Jurel Shines With Seven Catches
It was a game for the keepers to remember, as Dhruv Jurel too shone with the gloves and took seven catches in the first innings. He equalled MS Dhoni's record for most catches in an innings in a Duleep Trophy Match.
It is worth noting that the ongoing Duleep Trophy will be crucial for the players as the BCCI is all set to announce the squad for the upcoming Bangladesh Test series.
