After 633 days away from the Test arena, Rishabh Pant, India's dynamic wicket-keeper batter, made a triumphant return. Known for his fearless approach and ability to turn the tide of a game, Pant had fans eagerly awaiting his performance. 

The comeback finally came in the first Test against Bangladesh at Chepauk in Chennai. On Day 3, Pant didn’t just mark his return; he roared back into the spotlight with a scintillating half-century, rekindling the memories of his past heroics.

In the first innings, Pant started with a composed 39 runs, giving glimpses of his form. However, it was in the second innings that he truly stamped his authority. Facing 88 deliveries, Pant brought up his 12th Test fifty, tucking a short ball from Mehidy Hasan to deep square leg in the 44th over. 

The crowd erupted as Pant raised his bat in celebration, acknowledging his well-composed knock. His fifty was crucial, building on India's lead and putting them in a commanding position against Bangladesh.

Pant’s fifty not only marked his return in style but also came as his second consecutive fifty against Bangladesh. His ability to perform under pressure continues to define his Test career.


India In A Strong Position Against Bangladesh

Pant’s performance has been instrumental in boosting India's lead. With Shubman Gill also reaching his half-century, the duo formed a solid partnership, pushing India’s lead past 300. Bangladesh’s bowlers were left searching for breakthroughs as the Indian batsmen looked to build an unassailable total. 

At the time of writing, India are leading by 398 runs, with Shubman Gill (75*) and Rishabh Pant (60*) at the crease .
