After stumps on day 2 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium, India are in a commanding position with a lead of 308 runs. 

India, in the second innings, are 81/3. Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli fell cheaply, but Shubman Gill is looking solid as he is unbeaten on 33 (64). Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant, who missed out on fifty by 11 runs in the first innings, looks promising in the second innings as he is unbeaten on 12 (13).

Meanwhile, Pant hogged the internet after he danced down the track on the last ball of the 21st over and smashed Shakib Al Hasan for a big six straight down the ground. The ball went close to the cameraman. 

Skipper Rohit Sharma was impressed by the shot and was seen clapping from the dressing room with a smile on his face.

Rishabh Pant Returns To Test Cricket After Nearly 2 Years

Rishabh Pant returned to Test cricket after nearly two years as he last played a Test match in December 2022 before he suffered that fatal car crash when he was returning home for New Years on December 30, 2022. 

Following the accident, Pant underwent multiple surgeries for torn ligament in his knee. Pant returned to action through IPL 2024 and then also featured in the Duleep Trophy 2024, where he shone with the bat and gloves. 

In the first round of Duleep Trophy 2024, Pant scored 61 (47) against India A. Further, he also took five catches in one innings to leave his fans stunned with his performance. Even in the ongoing Test match, Pant has done well with the gloves and taken a few catches.
