The first Test between India and Bangladesh witnessed a game-changing moment. Bangladesh's Hasan Mahmud's fiery red cherry proved too hot to handle yet again. He bagged his fourth wicket of the day by dismissing the formidable Rishabh Pant at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, right after lunch.

Rishabh, who had been going strong for 39 runs off 52 balls, failed to hold onto the mounting pressure as he joined the others in the dugout. Nevertheless, his contribution came at the right moment and did indeed help India come out of a challenging situation after the dismissals of India's top order.

The moment occurred in the 26th over when Bangladesh's right-arm fast bowler Hasan bowled a short-of-a-length delivery outside the off, angling away. Pant hung back in hopes of cutting it, but he looked a tad bit sluggish while playing it. He ended up getting it off the toe end of the bat, and Litton Das, stationed comfortably behind the stumps, gobbled on to it with ease.

A nothing-shot from Pant cost both him and India a very hefty price. Immediately as Litton held on to the ball, Pant expressed his frustration by angrily hitting the bat on the ground. On the other hand, Mahmud has had quite a dream Test so far, dismissing all the Indian heavyweights with skills and precision.

What happened in IND vs BAN 1st Test?

In an engaging morning session, Bangladesh, after winning the toss, opted to bowl and struck early, reducing India to 34/3 with Hasan Mahmud claiming three wickets, including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant then steadied the innings, putting together a solid partnership to take India to 88/3 at lunch. Both players looked confident, with Jaiswal on 37 and Pant on 33, effectively countering the Bangladeshi bowlers.

However, after lunch, Pant’s dismissal proved costly for India, who now find themselves at 120 for 4. Despite showing promise, his loss added pressure on the middle order as they seek to recover from a shaky start.
