[Watch] Ravindra Jadeja’s MS Dhoni-Esque Solid Defence For Virat Kohli’s Century

Cricket fans around the globe still recall MS Dhoni's iconic defensive push to let Virat Kohli finish things off during India's 2014 T20 World Cup semi-final against South Africa. Similarly, Ravindra Jadeja did the same on Sunday (October 22) during India’s ongoing World Cup contest against New Zealand in Dharamsala.

This time around, Kohli was batting on 93*, and India, chasing 274, required seven more runs to win over the Black Caps. Everyone was looking at Jadeja when he came back to the strike before the last ball of the 47th over.

Trent Boult, who was bowling that over, bowled an outside off-stump delivery pitched at full length. Jadeja, with all his time, went for a picture-perfect front-foot defence, and within seconds, a loud cheer came from all corners of the Dharamsala stadium.

However, Jadeja's defence went in vain as Kohli disappointed billions of fans by losing his wicket after a brilliant 104-ball 95 in the following over. Yet, it was enough for the Men in Blue to see off the target, as Jadeja hit the winning runs against Matt Henry to finish things off.
