[Watch] Virat Kohli ‘Livid’ As Jasprit Bumrah Drops A Dolly; Mitchell Survives

There is nothing new about Virat Kohli displaying his raw emotions on the field. The talismanic Indian batter made headlines on Sunday (October 22) during India’s World Cup clash against New Zealand, taking place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala.

While Kohli was seen celebrating in an aggressive manner when the Men in Blue took two quick wickets early in the day, the 34-year-old was angry at Jasprit Bumrah later for dropping a simple catch to give a well-set Daryl Mitchell a lifeline.

Usually known for having safest hands, Bumrah was placed near the boundary ropes at long-off during the 33rd over of New Zealand's innings. Batting on 80s, Daryl Mitchell tried to smash Kuldeep Yadav out of the park, but did not get the elevation right.

As a result, the ball went straight to Bumrah, and it felt India's much-required breakthrough was on for some seconds. However, Bumrah did not let that happen, as a simple catch catch turned into a four.

Kohli was not pleased at all after Bumrah's lacklustre effort. He did a gesture with his hand, which suggested 'what was that?'

Notably, it was India's third simple catch drop, after Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul.

As of writing, New Zealand are 205/4 after 37 overs, with Daryl Mitchell batting on 94* off 91 deliveries.
