Grace Harris crashed Perth Scorchers’ high-flying WBBL 2023 party with a booming 136* in match number five of the competition. The Brisbane Heat opener blasted 12 boundaries and 11 towering sixes, including one with a broken bat to put up a batting exhibition at the North Sydney Oval.

Australian veteran and Brisbane Heat star Grace Harris bludgeoned a six-laden 136 against Perth Scorchers to storm her side towards a colossal 229-7 upfront. The cricketer stepped on the pedal in the backend to launch an unreal acceleration as she raced from 64* to 136* in just the final seven overs of the innings.

During the team’s 14th over, Harris asked for a change of bat because of the loosening grip. However, she instantly reclined any help from her own and decided to play out one more ball with the same blade in the innings.

As it turned out, Harris launched a huge six towards cow corner off the very next delivery, which ultimately broke the bat into two halves, thus igniting much laughter from the commentary box.

Grace Harris scored a 59-ball 136* in her side’s monumental 229-run effort upfront, which turned out to be 50 runs better than Perth Scorchers best run-chase efforts later in the game.

The star all-rounder also claimed a wicket in the Scorchers innings by trapping Amy Jones against the run-of-play. Harris eventually bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award and will now face Sydney Sixers in her side’s subsequent WBBL 2023 challenge on October 24 at the same Sydney-based venue.
