On Day 1 of the gripping Test match between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, veteran all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin emerged as a beacon of hope for the Indian cricket team. 

After a dismal start, with Bangladesh's Hasan Mahmud dismissing key players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Ashwin stepped up, showcasing resilience and skill. His partnership with Ravindra Jadeja transformed the match, as the duo crafted a crucial century stand for the eighth wicket.

Ashwin-Jadeja Stitch Up A Solid Partnership

Ravichandran Ashwin's heroics were instrumental in India's fightback during the first Test, as he scored a brilliant 102 not out. Partnering with Ravindra Jadeja, who contributed 86, the duo forged a resilient 195-run partnership after India struggled at 144 for six. 

Ashwin's explosive batting showcased his skill and confidence, employing innovative shots to counter the Bangladeshi bowlers, particularly Hasan Mahmud, who had initially put India under pressure. Ashwin's century, his sixth in Tests, lifted India to a competitive total of 339/6 on Day 1.
