In the ongoing Chennai Test, the Indian team were prepared for the Bangladesh spinners, but Hasan Mahmud came out of syllabus for them. The right-arm pacer ran-riot and tore apart the Indian top-order with his lines and lengths.

He started the carnage by scalping the wicket of Rohit Sharma, and followed it up with the wicket of Shubman Gill for duck. The moment of the match came when he had his tails up after picking up two wickets, and came back to haunt the Indian team with the wicket of Virat Kohli for just 6 runs on the board.

It was a dream spell for any pacer and Mahmud certainly made a mark by terrorising the Indian batters, who are generally good players of pace bowling. Mahmud has certainly caught the eyes of the fans in India, and don't be surprised if he gets picked up the IPL 2025 mega auction. 

Looking at the big 3 teams (RCB, CSK and MI), Bangladesh pacer will be a perfect fit for MS Dhoni's CSK. RCB always go for big stars, and MI already have plethora of pacers, and on Wankhede's small ground, Mahmud's pace would be innefective.

CSK need a new ball pacer to replace injured Deepak Chahar

As talented as Deepak Chahar is, the CSK pacer is mostly injured and due to his injuries, the bowling speed has dropped in massively. The swing is still there, but with no pace on offer, the swing becomes innefective.

In such a scenario, Mahmud can be an answer for the CSK management. We witnessed his new-ball exploits in the Chennai Test, and judging by it, the Bangladeshi pacer has all the tools to succeed in T20 cricket.

He bowls at a decent speed, and as witnessed against the likes of Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, Mahmud possesses excellent control over his lines and lengths.

Mahmud can build solid partnership with fellow teammate Mustafizur!

There is a great chance that Mustafizur Rahman might be retained ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. If that happens, the introduction of Hasan Mahmud can take the CSK attack to a different level.

The two players know each other really well and their dynamics could be crucial for the Yellow Brigade in the upcoming season. While Mustafizur can trouble the batters with his slower-deliveries, Mahmud can spearhead the attack from the other end with his impeccable lines and lengths.

CSK's knack for unearthing underrated gems

Mustafizur Rahman, Matheesha Pathirana, Shardul Thakur, Tushar Deshpande, CSK have plethora of underrated gems in their bowling attack. None of the above mentioned names are big stars, but they are team players and know their job well.

Add Mahmud to this lineup and CSK will have another underrated bowler in their ranks. MS Dhoni's CSK doesn't opt for big stars in the auction, and thus, should go for Mahmud, who is a brilliant wicket-taking bowler up-front.
