India's emerging left-handed star, Yashasvi Jaiswal, was forced to face the wrath of Bangladesh's Nahid Rana and Shadman Islam as they smartly eliminated him in the ongoing first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Interestingly, the Bangla Tigers have been a solid force to reckon with, especially today, after Hasan Mahmud single-handedly cut short the innings of four Indian southpaws.

Jaiswal, who was in a good form and had scored a resilient fifty, couldn't hide his disappointment as he walked back to the pavilion with 56 runs off 118 balls. With this wicket, Bangladesh secured their fifth wicket of the day.

In the 42th over, Nahid Rana unleashed a 148.6 kmph thunderbolt on the back of a length delivery on off; Jaiswal hung back and made a poor poke at it. The ball caught the outside edge of his blade and settled safely in the hands of Islam Shadman, who was stationed at the first slip.

KL Rahul Departs; India in Trouble

Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl, quickly reducing India to 34/3. Hasan Mahmud was the star with three wickets, taking down key players Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant then stabilized the innings, forging a strong partnership that brought India to 88/3 at lunch.

Both batters appeared in control, but Pant fell shortly after for 39. KL Rahul entered the fray but also succumbed quickly, scoring just 16 runs.

With two top wickets lost, the team faced a challenging recovery as they aim to overcome their shaky start and build a competitive score. At the time of writing, India are at 169/6 before departing for tea, with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease.
