Bangladesh's in-form fast bowler Hasan Mahmud survived an injury scare following a deadly collision with Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing first Test against India at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The speedster, who rattled India with a sensational bowling spell, had his heart in his mouth for a brief period, but recovered quickly to bring a sigh of relief in the Tigers' camp.

The incident occurred during the 50th over of India's first innings when Jadeja was trying to steady the ship alongside Ravichandran Ashwin following India's unexpected batting collapse. The southpaw had a great start to the over, smashing Hasan Mahmud for a magnificent six over the mid wicket.

However, Hasan Mahmud made a remarkable comeback, deceiving Jadeja with his accuracy on the very next delivery. As the ball jagged back into Jadeja and hit him on his pads, the seamer appealed for an LBW. The on-field umpire decided in his favour, declaring the Indian all-rounder out.

While celebrating the dismissal, Hasan Mahmud charged towards the striker's end, colliding with Jadeja, who was trying to steal a quick single. As the collision happened, both players fell down on the ground, creating speculations about potential injury setbacks.

However, it wasn't as lethal as it seemed to be in real time, with Jadeja and Mahmud quickly recovering and standing on their feet. The players shook hands thereafter, apologising to each other for the terrible mix-up.

Jadeja, Ashwin Help India Breach 200-Run Mark

Despite being given out, Jadeja survived the LBW dismissal as the ultra-edge revealed a clear spike in DRS replay. The veteran all-rounder has added 64 runs with Ashwin for the seventh wicket, powering India to a respectable total. At the time of writing, the hosts were 209 for six, with Jadeja and Ashwin batting on 21* and 40*, respectively.
