South Africa and Afghanistan are playing against each other in the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.

One of the highlights of the match occurred in the 7th over of Afghanistan's innings when a South African bowler, Anrich Nortje seemed to be abusing Rashid Khan, which intensified the situation between the players.

Anrich Nortje made a gesture with his finger, and kept his eyes on Rashid. The duo had a chat afterwards, bringing the heat in the stadium.

Intense Moment Between Nortje and Rashid Khan

Earlier in the match, Rashid Khan, the Afghan skipper, won the toss and opted to bat first. Marco Jansen gave South Africa a brilliant start by as he dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the backbone of Afghan batting, in the first over. From then on, wickets fell like a pack of cards.

The Afghan batters failed to maintain any momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. The Afghan team and fans would have hoped their openers to give them a much-needed start that would have set the platform for a total that could test the South Africans.

However, that did not happen as Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada made light work of the Afghan batting line-up. The Afghanistan team collapsed in no time and scored just 56 runs.
