The eighth match of the CPL 2024 between Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and Trinbago Knight Riders is underway at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The visitors won the toss and asked the Kieron Pollard-led side to bat first.

Nicholas Pooran's brilliance affected the first dismissal

The Falcons, who are looking for their first win of the tournament, got off to a great start as they put 66 runs on the board, their highest total on the board. Opener Justin Greaves was the star with the bat as he scored a quickfire 37 (19), which featured four fours and two sixes. 

Sunil Narine provided the first breakthrough for Knight Riders in his first over. On the fifth ball of the 6th over of the first innings, Greaves looked to take on Narine but failed miserably. Meanwhile, Nicholas Pooran stole the limelight over his lightning-fast reflexes to stump out Greaves. 

Trinbago Knight Riders Eyeing Second Straight Win

While the Falcons have lost four games on a trot, it is the opposite for the Trinbago Knight Riders, who registered a handsome win over St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in their opening match.

It was a record-breaking match, as the Knight Riders amassed the third-highest total in the history of CPL. The Kieron Pollard-led side put 250/4 on the board and registered a 44-run win.

Nicholas Pooran stole the show there as well with his bat for his excellent 97 (43), which featured nine sixes and seven fours. At the time of writing this article, the Falcons are 101/2 as they have lost Fakhar Zaman, who played a loose shot and returned to the pavilion with a score of 38 (26), which included five fours.
