The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are playing the Trinbago Knight Riders in the eighth match of the CPL 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The Falcons were asked to bat after Kieron Pollard won the toss.

Fakhar Zaman and Justin Greaves made a good start for the Falcons

The Falcons, playing their fifth match of the tournament, are in a critical position. Having lost all four of their games so far, they are currently at the bottom of the table, striving for their first win. In their attempt, Justin Greaves and Fakhar Zaman's strong start provided the Falcons with crucial early momentum in the innings.

While this partnership displayed excellent batting skills on the field, Waqar Salamkheil of the Trinbago Knight Riders came up with a poor fielding show. On the third delivery of the fourth over, Terrance Hinds bowled a short delivery at the body of the batter. Greaves spotted the length early and set himself up for the pull shot. He went hard at it and got a top edge towards short fine leg. Salamkheil, who was stationed there, tracked back to take the catch. However, even after being under the ball, the Afghan payer failed to hold onto the ball. It was one of the easiest chances that Salamkheil let go of.

Pakistan displayed poor fielding in the recent Bangladesh series

While this incident happened, Fakhar Zaman was it from the non-striker's end. Salamkheil's effort might have given him flashes of the Pakistan team's fielding in the recently concluded Bangladesh series. The home team put in a poor display on the field and gave multiple examples of lacked effort.

Coming back to the game, despite a blazing start, the Falcons lost momentum in the middle overs. At the time of writing, the Falcons are stationed at 114/3 in 14 overs.
