Multan Sultans' captain Mohammad Rizwan had a lucky escape in the ongoing PSL 2024 final against Islamabad United, as Naseem Shah's no ball gave him a lifeline.

The incident occurred in the very first over after Multan Sultans opted to bat first in the all-important clash. Opening the bowling for Islamabad United, Naseem Shah initially kept things tight before eventually drawing Rizwan into a false shot.

Naseem's accuracy with the ball made Rizwan desperate to get off strike, as he played a wild slog in a bid to open his account with a boundary. However, while doing so, he top-edged the ball, with Agha Salman taking a splendid running catch.

But upon checking the delivery in the replay, the TV umpired called it a no ball, as Naseem's front foot had landed outside the popping crease.

Thus, Naseem was found guilty of bowling a no-ball, and Rizwan got a lucky lifeline. However, Imad Wasim, who had a stellar outing vs Peshawar, rattled the United in the following over, getting rid of Yasir Khan and pinch-hitter David Willey in quick succession.

Fortunately for the Sultans, Usman Khan and Rizwan have steadied the ship, powering them to 59 for two in 8.4 overs as of this writing.
