Islamabad United have registered a superb win against Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets to storm into the finale of PSL 2024. They will now go up against Multan Sultans in the final and Peshawar Zalmi has been eliminated which has shattered Babar Azam's hopes to win the title and make a statement after the debacle of World Cup 2023.

Peshawar Zalmi were on the top for the most part of the game and after scoring 185 in the first innings courtesy a brilliant 73 from Saim Ayub, they also reduced Islamabad United to 91-5. However, Imad Wasim and Haider Ali never gave up and stitched together an unbeaten stand to take their team home with one over to spare.

Both Wasim and Haider Ali scored unbeaten fifties and the likes of Luke Wood were hit for plenty in the final overs after bowling well initially.

The winning shot came from Imad Wasim as he played a glorious drive through covers to end the seal the win in style.

Babar Azam who scored plenty of runs throughout the tournament, could not get big runs in this game but the youngsters stepped up with Harris too scoring crucial runs. They were poor at the death with the ball though and that cost them big time, and now the final will be played on 18th of March between Red Army and Rizwan's high-flying Multan Sultans.
