Pakistan's promising 21-year-old pace sensation, Naseem Shah, showcased his potential with a brilliant bowling performance that led to the first breakthrough.

He dismissed Bangladesh's Zakir Hasan, with the assistance of his teammate, wicketkeeper-batter, Mohammad Rizwan, on Day 3 of the first test between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

It was a disappointing moment for Zakir Hasan as he had to make the long walk back to the pavilion, having scored just 12 runs off 58 deliveries.

On the final ball of the 17th over, Naseem Shah unleashed a back-of-length delivery pitched well outside the off-stump. Zakir chased the ball by looking to drive through the off-side, with no foot movement from the left-hander. He got a thick outside edge, and the ball flew towards the slip cordon. Rizwan fled to his left, stretching his left hand in an almost Spiderman-like attempt, and took a one-handed stunner to draw first blood.

Pakistan Declares At 448, Bangladesh On Backfoot

Meanwhile,a delayed start on Day One, quick wickets, boundaries, centuries, some swing, a little spin, and a first-innings declaration saw Pakistan deem 448/6 a good enough score.

The Bangladesh pacers had a good outing on the first day, with some help from the surface, but the Shakeel-Rizwan duo completely took over on the second day. They added 240 for the 5th wicket and batted Bangladesh out of the game.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh trail by 413 runs.
