Pakistan's experienced seamer Shaheen Afridi oozed his class with the bat as he hammered a blistering cameo in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Coming at number eight, Shaheen smashed a belligerent 24-ball 29* to help the hosts breach the 400-run mark in quick time.

After Shakib Al Hasan got the prized scalp of Agha Salman, Shaheen joined keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who already had slammed a valiant ton. During his brief stay, Shaheen clobbered a boundary and two sixes before skipper Shan Masood declared the innings.

The southpaw took on the Bangladesh spinners right from the word go, targeting them to score brisk runs for his side.

He didn't even spare veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, hitting him for a massive six straight down the ground.

The incident occurred during the 109th over of Pakistan's first innings when Shaheen had just entered the middle following Salman's dismissal.

Shakib came from around the wicket and shortened his length as he saw Shaheen coming down the track.

Although he pitched the ball wide outside the off stump, he couldn't take it away from Shaheen's reach, as the batter smashed it straight over his head for a six.

Bangladesh start cautiously after Pakistan declare on 448/6

Riding on exceptional knocks from Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan posted a mammoth total of 448/6 in their first innings. In response, Bangladesh had a cautious start, placed at six for none, with Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan unbeaten in the middle.
