Joburg Super Kings (JSK) fast bowler Nandre Burger produced a peach of a delivery to dismiss Durban Super Giants (DSG) opener Quinton de Kock during the Qualifier 2 game between JSK and DSG at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Burger continues to shine. Having made his debut in all three formats of the game last year, Burger has quickly come through the ranks and is now showing his ultimate potential. With the new ball, he's threatening and equally dangerous against right-handers and left-handers.

In Qualifier 2, he once again proved why he's become a dependable operator with the new ball in the powerplay overs. Bowling to one of the most successful and dangerous batters of his country, Quinton de Kock, the pressure was on Burger as de Kock can punish bowlers if they err in line and length.

After conceding ten runs in his first over, the pressure was on Burger before he came on to bowl his second over. On the fourth delivery of the fifth over of the first innings, Burger bowled a brilliant ball that came back with the angle to disturb the stumps. It was pitched a tad bit fuller on the off stump, and the ball nipped back in just a little bit. Quinton de Kock played all over it, with his stumps going for a toss.

Burger looked animated in his celebration as it was the prized scalp of his countrymen and DSG’s main batter.

JSK won the toss and opted to field first, putting Durban Super Giants into bat. Initially, JSK seemed to have the upper hand, with DSG struggling at 55/3 and 92/4, courtesy of a fiery opening spell by Nandre Burger (2/27) and his effective bowling at the death.

However, the momentum shifted once Wiaan Mulder (50*) and the unstoppable Heinrich Klaasen (74) joined forces. Their partnership of 101 runs, achieved in quick succession, turned the tide of the match. Mulder and Klaasen displayed exceptional batting prowess, effortlessly dispatching the ball over the boundary.

Despite Doug Bracewell taking two wickets, the dynamic duo of DSG had already inflicted significant damage. The innings concluded at 211/6, setting a challenging target for the home team.

Notably, Nandre Burger delivered a standout performance, particularly impactful during the powerplay. He dismissed de Kock early on and eventually claimed the crucial wicket of Klaasen in his final over, with Doug Bracewell's excellent fielding at long off assisting in the breakthrough.
