Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan won the toss and chose to bowl first against the West Indies in the final Group C match of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup at the Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia.

The West Indian innings began with Brandon King and Johnson Charles as they aggressively attacked the Afghan bowlers. Their energetic start put the Afghanistan bowlers under significant pressure and the momentum was carried ahead by Nicholas Pooran.

In the midst of this strong start, Shai Hope contributed a brisk 25 runs off 17 balls, including two sixes, adding to the team's momentum.

However, in the 12th over, Afghanistan found a breakthrough. Gulbadin Naib started his spell and delivered a leg cutter at 100.9 kmph, full and outside off stump. Hope, aimed for another big shot, went down on one knee to slog sweep. Unfortunately, he mistimed the shot due to the slower delivery.

The ball went flat towards deep mid-wicket where Najibullah Zadran executed a spectacular diving catch, leaping to his right and securing the ball with both hands. This remarkable catch led to Naib who celebrated with a flex of his biceps, marking the end of Hope's innings.
