UP Warriorz start off their Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 campaign against the famed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday (February 24).

Alyssa Healy's bandwagon would be hoping to make a strong beginning after an inspiring run past the league stage last summer.

A strong allround display helped the Warriorz set up an Eliminator clash where a defeat against eventual winners Mumbai Indians (MI) ended their dream. Healy's team now strive for excellence and look to go two steps further to lift the coveted WPL crown.

The UP-based franchise made some interesting choices leading into the WPL 2024, retaining their senior and established figures Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Sophie Ecclestone, and Tahlia McGrath while empowering the youngsters in the squad.

Warriorz further bolstered their squad with the influx of experienced England cricketer Danielle Wyatt, whom they purchased at the pre-season auction for INR 30 lakhs.

Apart from Wyatt, the franchise also put in their vote of confidence on Vrinda Dinesh (1.30 crores), Saima Thakor (10 Lakhs), Poonam Khemnar (10 Lakhs) and Gouher Sultana (30 Lakhs).

A strong start to the season is extremely important for all five teams participating in the WPL 2024, and Warriorz would be aware that their ability to rally on the initial momentum for the tournament depends largely on the first game versus Bangalore and how they stake up their playing XI for it.

Given the squad up their sleeves, here is how UP Warrioz's Probable XI could shape up when they take up the field against Smriti Mandhana & her girls.
