Following a commendable bowling effort by Bangladesh, which restricted Afghanistan's scoring, a pivotal moment occurred in the 16th over.

Mustafizur Rahman bowled a short delivery that was pushed across Azmatullah Omarzai, who attempted a cut shot but only managed to get an outside edge.

However, umpire Nitin Menon was not convinced and kept his finger down despite the strong appeal from the Bangladeshi players. Acting quickly, Najmul Hossain Shanto opted for a review.

Upon review, the UltraEdge technology confirmed a significant spike when the ball passed the bat, indicating a clear edge. Consequently, the original decision was overturned, and Omarzai was dismissed.
