The 52nd match of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup between Bangladesh (BAN) and Afghanistan (AFG) at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown is expected to be a thrilling clash.

Afghanistan are high on confidence after a convincing 21-run victory over Australia in their last match. They will look to carry the momentum forward and secure another win, which would enhance their chances of advancing to the semifinals.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have had a tough time, losing their last two matches. To keep their semifinal hopes alive, they not only need a significant victory against Afghanistan but also rely on Australia's defeat against India.

Bangladesh's Journey So Far in T20 WC 2024

Bangladesh's performance in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 has been marred by their inconsistent batting lineup, which has struggled to make an impact in crucial matches.

As they gear up for the must-win game against Afghanistan, the team will be hoping for a turnaround in their batting fortunes.

Tanzid Hasan has yet to deliver a standout performance in the tournament but will be crucial in providing a strong start. Meanwhile, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto needs to lead by example and anchor the innings alongside Hasan.

Batting at number 3, Litton Das has been one of the most inconsistent performers for the Tigers. So, Shakib Al Hasan, the experienced all-rounder, seems to be the key for them with both bat and ball.

Towhid Hridoy in the middle order needs to build partnerships and accelerate the scoring during the middle overs. Mahmudullah will need to add crucial runs in the latter stages of the innings and provide an additional bowling option.

Rishad Hossain has showcased some exceptional performances for the Bangla Tigers and provided much-needed breakthroughs. Mustafizur Rahman adds the extra depth to the bowling attack with his variations and ability to bowl at the death.

Taskin Ahmed is likely to return to the playing XI, providing an additional seam option with his pace and accuracy. In the last match against India, Jaker Ali was included, but he might be dropped for this game due to his poor form.
